This is all so exciting! There are just so many cool things to learn and to do in life. And when I find something I think is interesting, I just want to pass it on!
And since I am just starting out here, I'll mention two things right now that have caught my attention lately for those of you who enjoy digital scrapbooking.
Swift Publisher 2 (for the Mac only) is an inexpensive page layout program for Mac OS X only. It is seamlessly linked to iPhoto and does an excellent job of scanning entire directories and the internet for loadable images / clip art. If you buy the "retail" package, you get a substantial collection of clip art to add to your layouts. Having used Adobe PageMaker in the past for layouts, I found that Swift Publisher does everything that PageMaker did plus more. I can't say enough about this program - it surpassed my expectations! And if you're lucky enough to own a Mac, I'd highly recommend it.
I also think that ScrapGirls sells a lot of really nice digital artwork for scrapbooks. If you're just getting started, you can download a free starter-kit. Sign up for their newsletter and you get one freebie every day!
Above is the first layout I've ever done, put together in Swift Publisher using both clip art from Publisher and elements from ScrapGirls. And, yes, that is my daughter!
